No common digital baseline across a global manufacturing network

A global industrial manufacturer operating 12 production sites across four continents had no shared understanding of its digital maturity. Each site operated independently, with no standardised framework to measure readiness, benchmark performance, or prioritise transformation investment.

Production data was collected manually and consolidated through spreadsheets. Digital systems, where present, operated in isolation — with no integration between shop-floor operations and enterprise platforms.

SIRI-based global assessment programme across all 12 sites

We designed and led a structured three-year digital maturity assessment programme using the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) — the World Economic Forum-endorsed framework — across all 12 manufacturing sites in the group.

Phase 1 — Baseline
Initial 5-site assessments across North America, South America and Europe. Established the group's digital baseline and identified systemic gaps.
Phase 2 — Feasibility
Technology feasibility study to define priority investment areas. Launched transformation roadmap with governance structure and phase-gate criteria.
Phase 3 — Global Rollout
Extended assessment to remaining 7 sites across Asia, Middle East, Africa and Americas. Full network benchmarked and compared against industry peers.
